Idle is a village within the City of Bradford Metropolitan District. It’s name is derived from the Old English word ‘Idel’ which means unused land. The area thrived during the 19th Century when it benefitted from Bradford’s textile boom. World renowned Artist David Hockney who was born in Bradford spent some of his youth in the area.
Idle Working Men’s Club has become one of the best known Clubs in the world, largely because of it’s paradoxical name!
The Club offers a variety of entertainment for it’s Members and Guests. On Sunday 16th February there is Mick Noble’s Open Mic Night, with a Guest Appearance from ‘Classy Vocalist’ Kathy Ryan
