Sowerby Bridge is a Market Town in the Upper Calder Valley in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. It is where the Calder and Hebble Navigation and Rochdale Canal meet on the edge of The Pennines. Once an Industrial Centre, Pubs, Bars and Cafes now fill many of the old Canal Buildings.

Hollins Mill formerly a Joinery Workshop, won a National Award for ‘Best Conversion to Pub Use‘ in 2006 and is a spacious open-plan Venue besides the Rochdale Canal, to the West of the Town Centre. It features exposed beams and floorboards and has a large South-facing Beer Garden and facilities for Events, Functions and Wedding Receptions.

Ryburn 3 Step is a Folk Development Organisation, promoting Traditional Song, Music and Dance in the Ryburn Valley. The Ryburn 3 Step Folk Club has a Monthly Guest Night on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Featured Guest are supported by an all-star cast of resident singers. The Evening starts at 7pm with a few songs from residents, followed by the Guest Artist, and a short interval. More residents have an opportunity after the interval, followed by the 2nd set from the Guest, all finishing at 10pm.

On Sunday 11th May the Guest Artists will be Barrie & Ingrid Temple, harmony singers, hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, mostly singing unaccompanied, and have been singing together for over 40 years. Their material is mainly traditional with both serious and humorous content, including a lot of Barrie’s own songs, sung in a traditional fashion.
