Cudworth is a Village within the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire. The area has strong sporting traditions with Darren Gough (Yorkshire & England Cricketer), Dorothy Hyman (Olympic Athlete) and David Hirst (Footballer) all having been born or spent their early days in the Village. Although Sir Michael Parkinson is best remembered for his Journalism and TV Presenting – he was born in Cudworth and was a talented local Cricketer in his youth, playing alongside cricketing legends such as Geoff Boycott and retired Umpire Dickie Bird.
Darfield Road Working Men’s Club plays an important part as a Community hub and stages Live Entertainment every Sunday Evening with a variety of mainly Solo Singers and Duos.
