Careless Talk is a ‘One Woman Show’ by the incredible Ali Williams, coming to Helmsley on Friday 8th May,

London Pub Theatres Nominee – Best Solo Show. A true story of High Treason, Espionage, Spam Fritters. The only British person to be tried for treason in the Second World War takes to the stage for the first time.

By Ali Williams, based on the novel ‘Careless Talk’ by James Friel (shortlisted for the John Llewelyn Rhys Prize). Based on a true story, this tale opens a dialogue on the justice system in this country; who does it protect, how and why? And what of those who fall through the net, the unpopular, the uncompromising? This dialogue is as relevant now as it was then, in this frequently hilarious but ultimately moving play.
