Emma Wilson Band at Ryedale Blues Club, Milton Rooms, Malton YO17 7LX

March 27 @ 8:00 pm10:30 pm

Malton is a Market Town located to the North of the River Derwent which formed the historic boundary between the North Riding of Yorkshire (now North Yorkshire) and the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is divided from it’s smaller neighbour, Norton-on-Derwent by the River, and a Railway crossing! Malton is often referred to as “the food capital of Yorkshire” and was voted one of the best places to live in Britain in successive years.

The town’s history can be traced back to the times of Roman Occupation and the area is rich in history throughout the following centuries, and Charles Dickens was a regular visitor to Malton to see his good friend Charles Smithson. Whilst it is accepted that he did not write A Christmas Carol, as was believed at one time, he was certainly inspired by some of the Buildings, which in turn has seen a revival of Dickens related Festivals.

Malton and it’s surrounding countryside is home to a number of Horse Racing Stables and there is a thriving Livestock Market and holds monthly Farmer’s Markets.

The Rydale Blues Club meets on the last Thursday of each month, and on Thursday 27th March there will be an appearance from the Emma Wilson Band. The Blues Club is organised and hosted by Blues Radio Presenter Paul Winn,
