Otley Courthouse describes itself as a “Community performance and Arts outreach Centre with a Café and regular activities for younger people” It is based in what used to be a 19th Century Magistrates Court, Police Station and Superintendent’s House, which were transformed over an 8 year period before it reopened in it’s present form in 2004. It has been the setting for many TV programs and Films, including being regularly featured as the Police Station in ‘Heartbeat’
In addition to the Main Auditorium (The Courtroom) there are 10 tenanted Studios / Rooms, a Meeting Room and a ‘Maker Space’ that functions on a Membership basis and hosts the ‘Wharfedale Men’s Shed‘
Friday April 11th sees fab folksters Megson at the Courthouse featuring John Parker. This Award winning Folk Duo combine an infectious mix of heavenly vocals, lush harmonies and driving rhythmic guitars, and have gained a reputation not only for their arresting and intelligent song writing, but also for their exquisite musicianship and Northern humour. This first full UK Tour is enhanced with the addition of Double Bass legend – John Parker (Nizlopi) and co-insides with the release of a Brand New EP.
