SUMMARY:Jack & The Beanstalk at Theatre Royal\, Wakefield WF1 2TE
DESCRIPTION:The story of a boy\, a cow\, magic beans and a fearsome giant gets the Wakefield treatment that you’ve come to know and love. A brand new script\, glittering sets\, less than glamorous baddies and a Dame that’s unmatched\, there’s no wonder that Wakefield’s very own pantomime never disappoints! \nCertain performances have been adapted to suit people with hearing difficulties or who are on the Autistic Spectrum\, have learning difficulties\, or with Sensory or Communication disorders. Performances of this kind may also be suitable for some families with young children or which include audience members that may need to move around during a performance. Please contact the Theatre for details of those shows. \nTheatre Royal Wakefield were awarded Charity of the Year at the Wakefield BID Awards and also ‘Wakefield Member of the Year’ at the MY Chamber Awards!\nTheir nominations considered all aspects of the work they deliver\, including inclusion\, creativity\, and community empowerment. They deliver high-quality productions that entertain and inspire\, although the impact reaches far beyond the stage. As a registered charity\, they are committed to making the arts accessible to all. Their work supports learning-disabled young people\, empowering students\, and opens doors for marginalised groups including asylum seekers\, refugees\, and young carers. \nThe Theatre Royal lies on the corner of Westgate and Drury Lane. It was designed in 1894 as the Wakefield Opera House\, by renown Theatre Architect Frank Matcham\, and was built at a price of £13\,000. \nThere is a performance today of Jack & The Beanstalk at 7pm

SUMMARY:Maurice Grumbleweed at The Blues Bar in Harrogate HG1 2TJ
DESCRIPTION:The Blues Bar in Harrogate is a “Rollicking night-time Blues Music Hangout and relaxed Daytime Café and Bar with a Funky Décor” according to their web site\, and it’s difficult to improve upon that exact description. \nIt’s a small Café style venue in Harrogate Town Centre\, literally a few seconds walk from the world famous Betty’s Tea Room & Café\, with a small stage\, probably fewer than 30 seats\, but with a fantastic intimate atmosphere\, and with an exceptional program of Live Entertainment every night of the week. \nCheck for occasional variations\, but Martin Rose hosts a Jam Night every Monday and then the Acoustic Sessions every Tuesday\, the fabulous Maurice Grumbleweed presents his relaxed Blues Night every Wednesday\, with more than a touch of the humour that made him and his fellow Grumbleweeds into National Treasures\, and Guest Bands / Artistes on Thursday\, Friday\, Saturday and double or occasionally treble up Bands all day on Sunday. \n[Strongly recommended] \nMaurice Grumbleweed appears on Wednesday 26th November \n(from 9.00pm)
