The local population of 8\,500 increases somewhat during the Summer months with the influx of Tourists. Actor Brian Rix (later to become Baron Rix) and his sister Sheila Mercier (Annie Sugden from Emmerdale Farm) were both from the Town \nHornsea Ex Servicemen’s Club is located in the old Town of Hornsea\, down Back Southgate and Membership is available to all\, not just ex forces. According to their Facebook Page\, they are open daily from 12 noon. There are 2 Bars\, and a Function Room and besides Live Entertainment every Saturday and Sunday Night\, showing Sports on TV\, they have a Snooker Table\, Pool Table and regular Bingo and Quiz Nights. \nThe Guest Artist from Saturday 7th February is Rapture\nbilled as a ‘Party Band’.
