It is situated on the River Rye within the Ryedale district\, approximately 25 miles north of the City of York. \nHelmsley Arts Centre offer a range of Theatre\, Music of all Genres as well as Films\, Workshops\, Courses and Community Events. \nJulian Trevelyan is a 26 year old concert pianist who performs regularly throughout Europe and in the UK.. He moved to France after winning the 2015 Long-Thibaud-Crespin international competition at the age of 16\, becoming the youngest prize-winner in the competition’s history. He has since won prizes at International Piano Competitions such as the Leeds\, Géza Anda & Horowitz. \nHe has appeared as a piano Soloist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales\, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra\, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic\, London Mozart Players & Worthing Symphony Orchestra in the UK. He has played with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris\, Orchestre national du capitole de Toulouse\, Orchestre de Picardie\, Orchestre de la Suisse Romandie\, Musikkolegium Winterthur\, Tonhalle Orchester Zurich\, Moscow Chamber Orchestra\, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia & St Petersburg Philharmonic\, NMA Academic Symphony Orchestra\, Sofia Soloists\, I Pomeriggi Musicali\, ORF Wien\, Danubia Obuda Orchestra & Baden-Baden Philharmonic. \nJulian has made recordings with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra\, the London Mozart Players and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The first CD under the baton of Christian Zacharias was released in 2022 with the label ALPHA: Mozart’s Concertos Nos. 23 and 24. \nJulian is the assisant of Rena Shereshevskaya at the École Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot”. He studied in London with Christopher Elton and Elizabeth Altman. As a teenager he was part of Aldeburgh Young Musicians. This fuelled his love for contemporary music\, where he premiered new music every month. Since parting from the Insurance Industry in 1978\, LIDOS has continued to go from strength to strength\, producing Amateur Theatre to the highest standards of best practice and performance through teamwork and cooperation. \nOn 24th January\, LIDOS present Pinocchio at The Carriageworks Theatre\nGeppetto\, an old toy maker\, always longed for a son of his own. One starry night\, with a little help from the Blue Fairy and a cheeky little cricket\, his wish was finally granted\, and his latest creation\, a puppet called Pinocchio\, came to life! \nHowever\, the magical puppet who can move\, talk\, and dance with no strings catches the eye of the evil showman Stromboli\, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the enchanted toy. With the help of Dame Mamma Mia and her hapless son Lampwick from the local pizzeria\, will Pinocchio learn in time what it takes to be a “real boy’”?

One starry night\, with a little help from the Blue Fairy and a cheeky little cricket\, his wish was finally granted\, and his latest creation\, a puppet called Pinocchio\, came to life! \nHowever\, the magical puppet who can move\, talk\, and dance with no strings catches the eye of the evil showman Stromboli\, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the enchanted toy. With the help of Dame Mamma Mia and her hapless son Lampwick from the local pizzeria\, will Pinocchio learn in time what it takes to be a “real boy’”?

When the final instalment arrived by ship in New York\, eager readers reportedly stormed the dock in anticipation. \nThis powerful story follows Nell Trent and her grandfather\, residents of the eponymous London shop\, whose lives are upended by debt\, desperation and the sinister influence of moneylender Daniel Quilp. As the grandfather’s gambling spirals out of control\, the pair are forced to flee\, encountering danger and kindness in equal measure. \nIn this evocative stage production\, the tale is enriched with a vibrant musical score composed by John Holtby. Originally adapted in 1990 by Norman F. Parker\, the script has since been revised\, with new musical numbers added by Richard Green\, who also directs. \nStaying true to the era of the novel\, the production evokes a rich\, Hogarthian atmosphere. When the final instalment arrived by ship in New York\, eager readers reportedly stormed the dock in anticipation. \nThis powerful story follows Nell Trent and her grandfather\, residents of the eponymous London shop\, whose lives are upended by debt\, desperation and the sinister influence of moneylender Daniel Quilp. As the grandfather’s gambling spirals out of control\, the pair are forced to flee\, encountering danger and kindness in equal measure. \nIn this evocative stage production\, the tale is enriched with a vibrant musical score composed by John Holtby. Originally adapted in 1990 by Norman F. Parker\, the script has since been revised\, with new musical numbers added by Richard Green\, who also directs. \nStaying true to the era of the novel\, the production evokes a rich\, Hogarthian atmosphere. Expect humour\, heartbreak and unforgettable characters in this dramatic retelling of one of Dickens’ most enduring works.
