SUMMARY:The Acoustic Sessions at The Blues Bar\, Harrogate HG1 2TJ
DESCRIPTION:The Blues Bar in Harrogate is a “Rollicking night-time Blues Music Hangout and relaxed Daytime Café and Bar with a Funky Décor” according to their web site\, and it’s difficult to improve upon that exact description. \nIt’s a small Café style venue in Harrogate Town Centre\, literally a few seconds walk from the world famous Betty’s Tea Room & Café\, with a small stage\, probably fewer than 30 seats\, but with a fantastic intimate atmosphere\, and with an exceptional program of Live Entertainment every night of the week. \nCheck for occasional variations\, but Martin Rose hosts a Jam Night every Monday and then the Acoustic Sessions every Tuesday\, the fabulous Maurice Grumbleweed presents his relaxed Blues Night every Wednesday\, with more than a touch of the humour that made him and his fellow Grumbleweeds into National Treasures\, and Guest Bands / Artistes on Thursday\, Friday\, Saturday and double or occasionally treble up Bands all day on Sunday. \n[Strongly recommended] \nTuesday 2nd December is The Acoustic Sessions with Martin Rose \n(from 9.00pm)

SUMMARY:Wheatus at Brudenell Social Club\, Leeds LS6 1NY
DESCRIPTION:33 Queens Road\,\nLeeds\, West Yorkshire\,\nLS6 1NY \nWheatus\nt’s been 25 years since the release of “Teenage Dirtbag”\, and somehow Wheatus’ now iconic debut single is arguably the biggest it’s ever been. And to celebrate this milestone\, the band are returning to the UK and Ireland in November / December 2025 – playing their debut album in its entirety each night.\n\nThe last few years have been a true whirlwind for the band. In 2022\, Teenage Dirtbag became the cornerstone of a huge TikTok movement. The “Teenage Dirtbag photos” trend has now been embraced by nearly a million people\, including celebrities such as Madonna\, Lady Gaga\, Mark Ruffalo\, Lil Nas X\, Jon Bon Jovi\, Chevy Chase\, and countless others\, resulting in the hashtag #teenagedirtbag being viewed over 2 BILLION times worldwide. And if that wasn’t enough\, in 2023\, it surprised everyone again by re-entering the UK Top 40 charts.\n\nAgainst all odds\, this fresh frenzy around the 25-year-old anthem has led the band to recently perform on some of the most prestigious stages of their career: Wheatus have recently shared club\, arena & festival line-ups across the world with the likes of Alice Cooper\, Blondie\, Busted\, Everclear\, Hoobastank\, Living Colour\, Phantom Planet\, The Wallflowers\, Jimmy Eat World\, Dashboard Confessional\, The 1975\, Muse\, Jack White\, Blink-182\, Paramore\, Coheed & Cambria\, and so many more. In 2023\, Wheatus embarked on what might have been an unprecedented 47 date tour of the UK and Ireland that was only a few tickets shy of completely sold out. They performed at Download Festival 2024 to an audience of over 20\,000. Brendan B Brown also squeezed in a “Dirtbags Across America” tour\, where he played intimate acoustic shows in 49 of the 50 states (Alaska – sorry\, working on it). Most recently\, Wheatus did massive tours of both the USA and UK with their old friends Bowling For Soup\, to some of the largest sold out crowds both bands have seen in their entire careers. The final night of their upcoming tour will be a truly special gig with Bowling For Soup and Punk Rock Factory at the one and only OVO Wembley Arena in London – an absolutely perfect way to end this incredible year.\n\nAfter their 2020 plans were foiled by you-know-what\, Wheatus are committing every waking moment of 2025 to traveling the world to celebrate the anniversary of their debut album that still means so much to so many. In addition to playing their full debut album each night they’ll also be taking fan requests for any other favorites from their three decade career – a ritual they’ve upheld at headline shows for almost 20 years now. It’s a joy to behold. See for yourself.\n+ Thomas Nicholas Band\nTuesday 2nd December 2025 / Doors 19:30

DESCRIPTION:Moortown Social Club is situated at Cranmer Gardens\, Leeds LS17 5LA which is a short distance from the Leeds Outer Ring Road at Moortown. There is Live Entertainment every Sunday Night. The Club has a large Dance Floor and two tiers of seating. The entertainment is supplied through the Ricky Graham Agency\, and the Artist normally performs 2 sets of 45 minutes. There is a good sized Dance Floor in front of the stage\, although rarely are there any dancers in the first spot and generally only a few in the 2nd. \nThe first House of Bingo (the “Flyer”) starts at 8\,30pm prompt\, followed by the Artist’s 1st spot of 45 minutes. There then follows a book of 4 houses of Bingo\, and the drawing the Raffle\, followed by a further 45 minute spot by the Artist. The audience tends to be aged 35+\, with a preference to older material (60’s / 70s / 80s) yet even then it reduces dramatically after bingo – a sign of the times! \nThe Artist for Sunday 30th November is Byron Lee\nbilled as a ‘Brilliant Male Vocalist’

SUMMARY:Maurice Grumbleweed at The Junction\, Otley LS21 1AD
DESCRIPTION:The Junction Inn is a traditional Pub in Otley\, West Yorkshire and besides serving up a wide range of fine ales\, they also have weekly Live Music. The roaring fire will keep you warm during the winter months\, whilst Maurice Grumbleweed on a Sunday evening (from 6pm)a nd Live Bands on a Saturday Night offer the best variety of Entertainment in town. The Junction is less thana 2 minute walk from Otley Bus Station\, with a regular Bus service to Leeds and Ilkley. \nMaurice Grumbleweed was a founder member of the nationally famous and Multi Award winning Comedy Band – The Grumbleweeds\, most of whom were from Leeds. They formed in the 1960’s\, and following success on the TV Talent Show ‘Opportunity Knocks’  they toured the UK playing to packed houses through the 1970s. \nSpotted at Batley Variety Club by Radio Producer Mike Craig\, they were commissioned to produce a Radio Programme on BBC Radio 2\, and such was it’s popularity that it continued throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. Maurice left the Band in 1998 and spent some time running a Gallery in North Yorkshire\, but the call of Show Business eventually drew him back\, and whilst his schedule now is a little less hectic\, he’s lost none of his Musical prowess or Comedy timing. He is a firm favourite both at his Wednesday Night residency at The Blues Bar in Harrogate\, and The Junction in Otley (early Sunday Evening) but also with the occasional Cruise Ship Work. when a more than capable replacement show is presented. \nThere will be a Show from Maurice Grumbleweed on Sunday\, 30th November from 6pm.

SUMMARY:Xander & The Peace Pirates at The Blues Bar\, Harrogate HG1 2TJ
DESCRIPTION:This group held a five-year tenure as Resident House Band at Liverpool’s iconic Cavern Club and later went on to support the likes of Joe Bonamassa\, Joe Satriani\, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band\, The Temperance Movement\, ex-Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden and even Bon Jovi at Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium. \nIn 2016\, Xander & The Peace Pirates released their debut album\, titled 11:11\, on V2 Benelux Records. They recorded at the world-famous Wisseloord studios in Hilversum\, outside of Amsterdam. The album went on to receive broad critical acclaim\, with Classic Rock writing\, “The novelty of frontman Keith Xander’s guitar approach – he lodges a plectrum in the hook of his prosthetic arm – is soon overshadowed by this band’s convincing splice of soul\, blues and country.”  BBC Radio 2’s Whispering Bob Harris shared\, “This band are just awesome\, and take me right back to my OGWT days.”   \nThe Blues Bar in Harrogate is a “Rollicking night-time Blues Music Hangout and relaxed Daytime Café and Bar with a Funky Décor” according to their web site\, and it’s difficult to improve upon that exact description. \nIt’s a small Café style venue in Harrogate Town Centre\, literally a few seconds walk from the world famous Betty’s Tea Room & Café.
