DESCRIPTION:The Brudenell is one of the foremost and most popular Live Music Venues in the City of Leeds and is described by the Venue themselves as : ‘A lively and fun loving Venue that embraces Music and Art under a wide and diverse umbrella that has no boundaries.’ \nThe Brudenell has been in the past most famous for hosting secret gigs for bands such as Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs. However\, it has been a centrepiece of the Leeds music scene for a number of years\, and hosts events most nights of the week\, by local promoters\, covering a wide spectrum of genres. It’s location\, near to The University of Leeds means it has a large student following\, which results in high attendance for most shows. \nThe name is said to come from the family of James Thomas Brudenell\, who owned nearby Kirkstall Abbey after it ceased to be a monastery in 1539. He was also Earl of Cardigan\, which would explain why so many roads in the Hyde Park area of Leeds are named Cardigan and Brudenell. \nThe Brudenell Social and Recreational Club has a long and varied history and was originally formed in December 1913\, in the location where it is still stands today. However the Brudenell is not just about music\, and other facilities include a Lounge\, Games Room with Snooker Table\, 5 Pool Tables\, Darts\, Table Football\, two Concert Rooms\, and Sky TV and BT Sport on large screen TV showing all major live sports events in HD. \nLocal Cask and other World Speciality Craft Ales sit alongside well known accessible brands\, all at a fair price. Local groups also meeting there include Photography\, Film and even Origami! \nThe Loveless (featuring Marc Almond) appear on Monday 15th December\nThe Loveless ft Marc Almond make their debut at Leeds Brudenell Social Club on Monday 15th December as part of their annual ‘Loveless Christmas’ tour.\n\nMarc Almond and long-term guitarist/sideman Neal X have recruited Punk icon Iggy Pop’s stupendous rhythm section\, Ben Ellis and Mat Hector\, to form “The Loveless”. Drawing material from Marc’s immense back catalogue the band serve up songs that awoke their delinquent desire to play snaky tunes played in seamy dives\, the band deliver a potent brew of ’70s rock\, ’60s R&B and Garage Rock with nods to T. DESCRIPTION:The Junction Inn is a traditional Pub in Otley\, West Yorkshire and besides serving up a wide range of fine ales\, they also have weekly Live Music. The roaring fire will keep you warm during the winter months\, whilst Maurice Grumbleweed on a Sunday evening (from 6pm) and Live Bands on a Saturday Night offer the best variety of Entertainment in town. The Junction is less than a 2 minute walk from Otley Bus Station\, with a regular Bus service to Leeds and Ilkley. \nMaurice Grumbleweed was a founder member of the nationally famous and Multi Award winning Comedy Band – The Grumbleweeds\, most of whom were from Leeds. They formed in the 1960’s\, and following success on the TV Talent Show ‘Opportunity Knocks’  they toured the UK playing to packed houses through the 1970s. \nSpotted at Batley Variety Club by Radio Producer Mike Craig\, they were commissioned to produce a Radio Programme on BBC Radio 2\, and such was the show’s popularity that it continued throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. Maurice left the Band in 1998 and spent some time running a Gallery in North Yorkshire\, but the call of Show Business eventually drew him back\, and although his schedule is now a little less hectic\, he’s lost none of his Musical prowess or Comedy timing. He is a firm favourite both at his Wednesday Night residency at The Blues Bar in Harrogate\, and The Junction in Otley (early Sunday Evening) but also with the occasional Cruise Ship Work. when a more than capable replacement show is presented. \nThere will be a Show from Maurice Grumbleweed on Sunday\, 14th December from 6pm.

DESCRIPTION:Tinshill & Cookridge Club is a friendly Club\,  situated just a short walk away from Horsforth Railway Station\, on the Leeds to York line and there is a regular Bus Service which stops right outside the Club connecting nearby Holt Park with Leeds City centre. \n\n\nThe 200 capacity Concert Room is available for Private Functions. \nSaturday Evening is Cabaret Time\, and the show is usually divided into 3 sets. The first ‘Flyer’ of Bingo is played about 8.30pm followed by the Artist’s 1st and then 2nd spots with ‘Open the Box’ in between. \nCIU affiliated Club members and Bona Fide guests are welcome\, although only Member’s Children \, (who must be aged 5 years or older)\, are admitted to the Concert Room. \nThe Show finishes with the Artists 3rd and final spot\, normally up-tempo and with a nice sized Dance Floor\, there’s plenty of room for the regular dancers to ‘Bust some moves!’ \nSaturday 12th December the Artist is Debra Allan \nbilled as a Star Female  Vocalist.\n5 star Venue ***** (One of our personal favourites!)

SUMMARY:Open Mic Night at The Falcon Club\, Otley LS21 3AT
DESCRIPTION:The Falcon Sports & Social Club was originally was originally built in 1909 as an Oddfellows Friendly Society Hall. but later became a Social Club for workers at the nearby Crabtree Vickers Factory. When the factory closed down\, the Clubhouse was gifted to the employees and it subsequently became a Private Members Club. \nThe Clubhouse is of timber construction\, and was threatened by demolition when planning permission was granted by Leeds City Council for the building of a nearby Care Home. However the Club Members refused an offer to buy them out\, and have since made improvements\, which include moving the Snooker Table into an extension\, to make it less of a Snooker Hall and more of a Social Club. Further improvements have included the addition of Disabled Facilities\, which because of the Club being all on one level makes it an ideal location as a Venue for Parties and Wakes\, for which it is available at very reasonable rates. \nAs a Member’s Club the Beer prices are also reasonably priced\, although Guests need to be signed in by a Member. Despite it’s Coal Mining Heritage\, the Village is surrounded by beautiful Countryside\, making it a popular destination for Walking and Cycling. \nShafton Working Men’s Club is located on High Street in Shafton\, and a review from a Band who had appeared at the Club stated:“This is a really great Club with Top Notch Bar and Management plus a great Family atmosphere. You will have a great night here\, for sure.” It is a Member’s Club\, but prospective applicants are invited to apply direct to the Club for Membership\, which in 2025 stood at only £4.00 \nThere are currently two Live Music Shows a week (a small Cover Charge may apply to certain shows)\, Quiz Nights in the Lounge every Tuesday and Thursday\, and a Bingo Session every Wednesday from 8pm. DESCRIPTION:Located at 5a Robert Street\, Harrogate\, HG1 1HP\, next door to St Roberts Centre and directly opposite St Roberts Church\, the Catholic Club is open to all\,  everyone is welcome (including well behaved dogs on a lead!)  and especially visitors to Harrogate. The Club has several rooms for hire at a reasonable cost and suitable for many occasions\, including  Christenings\,  Funeral Teas\, Birthdays\, Anniversaries\, Retirements\, Re-unions\, Baby Showers\, or Charity Events. \n\n\n The Catholic Club\, Harrogate was originally founded in May 1912 by Parish priest Augustine Saxton and 18 men led by local businessman Antonio Fattorini\, as a place for Irish and Italian immigrants to meet and socialise away from their work in the hotels of Harrogate. It is now a modern building welcoming all\,  whatever their religion\, and although commonly known as St Robert’s Club\, a recent AGM decided to recognise their roots and reintroduce ‘Catholic’ back into the name\, and so is now to be called St. Robert’s Catholic Club. \nThere is a wide and varied mixture of events throughout the week\, including Chess Club\, Drama Group\, Craft Workshops\, Philosophy Cafe\, Folk Club\, Acoustic Open Mic Night\, Archaeological Society\, Soul Lounge Nights with DJ and Vinyl only and Quiz Nights.
