SUMMARY:Open Mic Night at Falcon Club\, Otley LS21
DESCRIPTION:The Falcon Sports & Social Club was originally was originally built in 1909 as an Oddfellows Friendly Society Hall. but later became a Social Club for workers at the nearby Crabtree Vickers Factory. When the factory closed down\, the Clubhouse was gifted to the employees and it subsequently became a Private Members Club. \nThe Clubhouse is of timber construction\, and was threatened by demolition when planning permission was granted by Leeds City Council for the building of a nearby Care Home. However the Club Members refused an offer to buy them out\, and have since made improvements\, which include moving the Snooker Table into an extension\, to make it less of a Snooker Hall and more of a Social Club. Further improvements have included the addition of Disabled Facilities\, which because of the Club being all on one level makes it an ideal location as a Venue for Parties and Wakes\, for which it is available at very reasonable rates. \nAs a Member’s Club the Beer prices are also reasonably priced\, although Guests need to be signed in by a Member. The Club has 2 teams entered into the Otley & District Snooker League\, home games of which which are held on Tuesday evenings. \nOpen Mic Night every Friday Night from 8pm\norganised by Daniel and Margaret Marshall.

SUMMARY:Acoustic Sessions at Blues Bar\, Harrogate HG1 2TJ
DESCRIPTION:The Blues Bar in Harrogate is a “Rollicking night-time Blues Music Hangout and relaxed Daytime Café and Bar with a Funky Décor” according to their web site\, and it’s difficult to improve upon that exact description. \nIt’s a small Café style venue in Harrogate Town Centre\, literally a few seconds walk from the world famous Betty’s Tea Room & Café\, with a small stage\, probably fewer than 30 seats\, but with a fantastic intimate atmosphere\, and with an exceptional program of Live Entertainment every night of the week. \nCheck for occasional variations\, but Martin Rose hosts a Jam Night every Monday and also the Acoustic Sessions every Tuesday\, the fabulous Maurice Grumbleweed presents his relaxed Blues Night every Wednesday\, with more than a touch of the humour that made him and his fellow Grumbleweeds into National Treasures\, and Guest Bands / Artistes on Thursday\, Friday\, Saturday and double or occasionally treble up Bands all day on Sunday. \n[Strongly recommended] \nAcoustic Sessions on Tuesday 18th August\nBringing the best of Acoustic Music for you – hosted by Martin Rose (from 9.00pm)
