DESCRIPTION:Situated in The Electric Press building\, at the heart of Millennium Square in Leeds City Centre\, the Carriageworks Theatre showcases the best of National and International touring productions and have established themselves as a key destination for audiences seeking an entertaining experience. \nWhen Insurevue disbanded in 1973\, a team of enthusiastic members from the Leeds Insurance Industry’s amateur dramatic community came together to create a new performing company.  On the 14th of January 1974\, ‘LIDOS‘ was born as the company took to the stage with the opening night of Gershwin’s musical\, “Lady Be Good”. Since parting from the Insurance Industry in 1978\, LIDOS has continued to go from strength to strength\, producing Amateur Theatre to the highest standards of best practice and performance through teamwork and cooperation. \nFrom 20th to 24th January\, LIDOS present Pinocchio at The Carriageworks Theatre\nGeppetto\, an old toy maker\, always longed for a son of his own. One starry night\, with a little help from the Blue Fairy and a cheeky little cricket\, his wish was finally granted\, and his latest creation\, a puppet called Pinocchio\, came to life! \nHowever\, the magical puppet who can move\, talk\, and dance with no strings catches the eye of the evil showman Stromboli\, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the enchanted toy. With the help of Dame Mamma Mia and her hapless son Lampwick from the local pizzeria\, will Pinocchio learn in time what it takes to be a “real boy’”?
